Fans of Peterborough United, Notts County, NorthamptonTown, Macclesfield, Lincoln City, Kettering and Rushden & Diamonds boosted the gate for the Richard Butcher memorial to close on 1500 last Thursday . They raised £7,800 to take the Richard Butcher Family funds collective total passed £20,000 and rising. The funds will go towards a pitch and and club house at Far Cotton in Butch's honour.  Butch's mum & Dad have been central to the cause ever since their son's tragic and premature death.

Former Macc Town vice chair Andy Scott led an emotional prematch tribute as 100 balloons were released prior to the game between the All-stars and the 1997 Cobblers Wembley side. The former won 3-2 but the real winners will be the footballers, young and old, of thevillageof Far Cottonas they attempt to emulate Richard in all his box-to-box glory.

A host of names turned out. Neil Grayson showed he can still put them away at 47.  Gary Simpson had a run out  too.  David Savage, Simon Yeo, Steve Howard, Carl Heggs, Duane Darby and Ian Clarkson also rolled back the years.  Richards Mum, Dad, and brother Glenn would like to thank everyone for their time and generosity in making this a success.
